And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
The Lord reminded me of something that happened many years ago: As I walked along the street a snake slithered across the pavement in front of me. My first instinct and desire was to stamp on the snake’s head. But I didn’t, because I was too concerned about the mess that it might make on my trousers! I was more concerned about what I looked like and my own dignity.
Now God says this, ‘I am throwing the enemy down in front of you. Where you have been harassed and tormented in different ways by the enemies of your souls, I am throwing them off and down in front of you at your feet. It is for you to deal the final death blow to where he has had access in your life. Will you stamp on the serpent’s head or will you walk around it, leaving it to come back another day? It is at your feet he will fall, what will you do?
I have placed weapons in your hands; you have the sword of the Spirit, will you use it? Like David did with Goliath, will you take the sword and cut off the giant’s head?
Take my word – the sword of the Spirit – and declare it aloud. Be not concerned about what you look like to others, but instead take up my truth and declare it. Declare your justification by my precious blood sacrifice, let the redeemed of the Lord say so.
For it is the sword of the Spirit out of your mouth that will deal the death blow, and the stamping on the enemy’s head that lays disarmed before you. Take the victory, it is yours!”
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.
