‘I am coming’, says our God. ‘I am coming in power to you change your life’.
There is a plain – a great expanse of dry grassland where wild creatures have grazed – but in the middle of this dry savannah is a mountain. The mountain erupts!
The erupting mountain splits in two and lava flows out like a river. The wild creatures that had fed unhindered now run in fear. Out of this erupting volcano, comes the Lion of Judah.
Frustration and ungodly emotions will evaporate with the coming of the Lion, just like the wild creatures that ran away from His eruption. These lesser beasts flee in the presence of the Lion, as will the unrighteous emotional chains that are not in Jesus’ plan for your life!
But the Lion isn’t finished yet. He won’t leave the job half done. The Lion of Judah comes to you and His roar will bring you back to life. The comfortable cobwebs are blown away and parts of your life – abilities, talents and skills – that have felt unused, like old rusted machines, will be brought back into life. He will bring you into a new position, different from the old one. Do not get comfortable in a place of being unused, rusty, and forgotten. You are not forgotten. God is coming again to wake up his secret abilities within you.
It may be uncomfortable at first, but has good and godly change ever been comfortable? Aching waves may initially come as you are rustled out of the processes that had kept you dormant and unused but ultimately you will be seated in a better place than before. Hand in hand, and nestled in the throne of our High King and Saviour, Jesus Christ, the roaring Lion of Judah.
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favour lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
