Let Me Set the Pace – your Lion Bites word for today

“As you run the race, keep your eyes on the prize,” says the Spirit of the Lord.

“When you fall, get up. When you are thirsty, I will refresh you. When you are exhausted, my fire will revitalise your blood and bones. For you do not run alone: I am with you. I will make the crooked path straight, and the miry track like a sprung floor beneath your feet. There is new wine to make your face glad, and there is fresh bread. I have promised to run with you, and I will keep my promise. Just let me set the pace, for I have run this race before.”

Proverbs 24:16
Though a righteous man falls seven times, he will rise again.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
