Lion Bites started 15 years ago when we and our small staff team of the time sat around a table, writing together, and listening to what God had for the nations. As the team has changed, developed, and grown, this still remains at the heart of what we do. Today, we use Zoom to sit together at the table, and listen to what God has for the nations. Together, we write “bite-sized” words which we hope transform, encourage, and equip the reader.
Monday to Friday each week, Lion Bites are emailed out to approximately 23,000 subscribers. These words are also shared on our Social Media outlets. Each word is often shared by followers over 100 times meaning the reach of each word is in the thousands.
Importantly, Lion Bites is not a daily devotional. These are short but weighty words of prophecy, which have the following objectives:
- Provide transformative encouragement for the reader
- Equip both individuals and the global church body
- Help readers keep in step with God’s timing
Therefore, each bite should speak truth, pour life and purpose into the reader, and bring transformation.
Guidelines for Lion Bites Team
- We write Lion Bites which will be published within approximately 4-6 weeks from the time of writing. Please keep this in mind when writing anything that is directly linked to current events. We want to focus more on what is coming than commenting on what is happening in the moment.
- With every Lion Bite, a great place to start is asking God, “Father, what do you have for your church in the coming weeks?”
- Words need to be fresh and full of your own revelation. Please do not copy or pull on words produced by other authors, but commit to seeking God for your own new revelation. Additionally, please do not “sit” on a word for an extended period of time. We value editing but submitting a word months after the initial revelation impacts the freshness.
- Lion Bites are bite sized. Please keep this in mind when you submit a word. Words should be concise and to the point; please do not exceed half a page of text per word.
- Lion Bites is not a daily devotional. Words may have a call to intimacy, but the objective is to produce words which have a prophetic edge. We encourage you to write words of deliverance, freedom, and correction as much as you write words of intimacy and encouragement. Remember, prophesy is transformative so we want to be releasing words that move people from A to B.
- All words should include an activation which enables the reader to partner with the word. For example, a prayer, physical activation, journal questions, declarations, ect.
- All Lion Bites should include two scriptures. For many readers, this might be the only bible reading they do that day and we want to highlight the importance of God’s word. Please! Always include the bible translation you used alongside the scripture reference.
- All words should be uploaded to https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ZqnUvbOguIaKHN8CcZlnuyfLQSfbsvdZ?usp=drive_link (note that you’ll need a Google account to do this) within a week of the writing meeting.
- Any problems using the above folder then email your word to bitesteam@propheticalliance.com within a week of the writing meeting.
- We know that life can be busy but we really value the act of joining as a team on Zoom to write together. We appreciate every effort that is made to join in on these sessions.
- Please submit no more than 3 words per session, unless specifically asked to provide more. Additionally, not all of your words are guaranteed to be published. This is not to be taken as a reflection of your ability to write or prophecy. There will be some months where we will be blessed with an abundance of words and in those months we will follow where the Lord leads and post accordingly.
- In submitting your words, you are giving permission for the words to be edited and altered to make them ready for publication. If the word requires a lot of editing, it may be sent back to you to take another look at it.
- The Lion Bites team believes in a culture of feedback to encourage and sharpen each others’ gifts. By submitting your words, you agree to be grown and stretched in this area.
- Some of the reasons your word may be sent back to you or not used are:
- If your word is an opinion and not revelation based. If we feel that your word has a focus on personal preference or agenda, it will be returned to the author for further review.
- If a dislike for the Body of Christ comes through your word.
- If your word is too symbolic to be understood. We recognize this can be particularly challenging for Seers, but this is a great place for us all to be stretched. Not all readers are church-goers; the more understandable a word is, the more wide-spread impact it can have.
- If the core message of the word is not understood.
- If the word is too long and needs editing to make it fit into a Lion Bite format.
