The Fruit of Your Lips – your Lion Bites word for today

Many of us are more aware than usual of our mouths and what comes out of them. It’s the ‘season of the mouth’, after all! Let’s be aware of the words that come out of our mouths for the Lord says that, “I am examining the fruit of your lips. It is a time to submit your mouths to my lordship and to say, ‘Lord God, I submit my mouth to You. Let no wicked, unclean, perverse, or unpleasing word proceed out of my mouth.’ And as you submit your words to me, ask me to teach you to speak words that bring forth fruit. For I do not desire that my children be silent or without speech, but I desire words that speak life into the atmosphere. I call you to speak words that carry my power and authority; I want my Church to speak into the nations and watch their words shift and change the flow and atmosphere of your surroundings. Your words carry power and authority; use them wisely.”

From the fruit of their lips people enjoy good things, but the unfaithful have an appetite for violence. Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.
