Unplug and Rest – your Lion Bites word for today

“Unplug,” says the Lord. Many times persecution leads you to a place of rest to seek refuge, yet in that place of refuge from persecution, you will receive the promise. In this time if you feel you are scrambling for refuge from persecution, if you have sought momentary rest, unplug. Intentionally reduce the noise level around you, turn off the news, the movies and even the worship music and rest with the Lord in the quiet. For I hear the Lord say, “You will hear my voice and receive my promises and direction for the next leg of your journey.”

Genesis 16:8-10 NIV
And he said, “Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?” “I’m running away from my mistress Sarai,” she answered. Then the angel of the Lord told her, “Go back to your mistress and submit to her.” The angel added, “I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count.”

1 Kings 17:6-9 NIV
The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.
Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land. Then the word of the Lord came to him: “Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.”
