The spirit of God is calling us all at this time to ask a challenging
question. What is your why?
Often we want to know WHAT we are doing or HOW we will get there. Have
you ever taken a moment to ask WHY God made you? WHY has He placed you
where you are? What is the Why that gets you out of bed in the morning?
What is the why that motivates you to live for Him?
God is gathering and unifying the church, asking his people to see the
promises of the kingdom, to no longer have them under our man-made lock
and key.
He is shouting and crying for us to reach out and grab the promises that
he has set aside for our future and our present.
God is asking us all, are we willing to pray, are we willing to devote
our time to ask this question, to see it accelerate us into our
God-given call.
This question will take time to answer; it will require you to wrestle
with God and never give up on waiting for what he will say.
The question to ask is “God what is my why”
We can see Jesus’ why here in Luke 4:17-19 (NIV)
and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he
found the place where it is written:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim
good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the
prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed
free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.”
1 Corinthians 12: 4-6 NIV
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes
them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are
different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the
same God at work.
