Today, you’re like a runner in ready position at the beginning of a race; crouched down with feet and legs at the ready for the gun blast signalling ‘Start!’. The crowd is rumbling with excitement and a sense of great anticipation is filling the air. Your training over the last while has taken you to this point; the stretching of your muscles, the increasing of your lung capacity and more. You have prepared well. You are ready to go!
Before the race starts, a still silence descends. This moment is important; don’t rush it. Instead, savour the stillness. This is where you are right now. Don’t run before your time to run, or change position in a moment of panic. Instead, ‘Be still, and know that I am God!’ (Psalm 46:10).
You are about to enter the race of your life; the days of your high call. But right now, don’t run ahead of God. Instead, have a moment of stillness with Him, letting His Spirit fill you with the energy and life you need to scale the track ahead. You’ve got this because He’s got you.
Psalm 46:10
‘Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honoured by every nation. I will be honoured throughout the world.’
