A Fixed Gaze – your Lion Bites word for today
Fix your gaze on the higher way of living that you are called to and keep your eyes on the purity and order of the Kingdom of Heaven. For there is much that seeks to distract you and divert your attention from the one whom you serve, yet you must strive to be one-minded, fully focused in your pursuit of Jesus.
Do not allow the turmoil of the age to distort your view of the Kingdom of God. For the Kingdom of God has a righteous government; its policies are holy and its values are just. Honour is the foundation of life in Heaven and all speak kindly of one another. This is the domain of which you are part of.
As you watch turmoil, keep fixed on the perfection of the Kingdom of Heaven. As you do so, you will begin to emulate its values and mirror its culture in your life, a demonstration to the world of a new, purer and more effective way of living.

Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
