Brick in your hand – your Lion Bites word for today

Why do you question what you have to give? Why do you question the worth and value of what you have to give? You look down at your hands and look up at the Kingdom of God and you say, ‘I don’t have much to give – my contribution is small and weedy in comparison to other’s’.

But look again at your hands. Hold them out before you and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal what is in your hands. Do you see the stone in your hand? Look again with unfiltered eyes – do you see that it is brick sized? Look again, ask for more revelation – do you see that you actually carry a large building block? (You might see more than this – colour, shape, texture, tools…)

Jesus said, ‘I will build my church – and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it’. He is building His church and He invites you to be a bigger part of the building process. You were not placed on this earth to be a bystander, a mere viewer. No, it is time to engage with the building process. It is time to walk towards your part of the wall and see where your building block fits. God has given this into your hands for a purpose, a place and a time. Do not despise what He has given you and do not despise where He has led you to set it, whether that place is so-called ‘sacred’ or so-called ‘secular’. Make it a regular part of your worship to consider, with Him, what He has placed in your hands. Jesus desires you to partner with Him as He builds.

1 Corinthians 3:9
For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
