‘You are entering into a season in which you will receive new revelation and fresh sensitivity to the ways of my Spirit’, says the Lord. ‘But in preparation you must make room for the new by doing away with the old. New mindsets and a fresh approach to the things you face, and to your relationships, is required’.
Consider the filters in domestic appliances – washing machines and dryers, vacuum cleaners, dishwashers and so on. They are there to collect the foreign objects, the grit and the gunk that ought not to be there.
In the previous season, many of you have taken things into your life that ought not to have been there; stuff that has clogged up your ‘filters’. For some it has been the things that you have used as entertainment – perhaps on TV, movies, the internet or even video games. These have clogged up up your ‘filters’ and diminished your sensitivity to the ways of the Holy Spirit and brought a numbness to your revelatory experience. For others it has been the relationships that you’ve maintained and for some it has been the lies and manipulation of the enemy that has remained too long in your thoughts.
It is time to clean out the filters and put away the old in order to receive the new. When you do this, you will find that this year will be a vibrant season of revelation and fulfillment with the Lord – and the intimacy that you have longed for.
Isaiah 43:18-19
Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
