I saw someone sitting on a beach close to the water’s edge. They were watching the waves as the sea lapped on the shore. It was a hot day and the water looked so refreshing. They were longing to try the water – to dip their toes in, or to walk into the waves; to cool off; to be revived and invigorated. But somehow they would not move to the water, despite their longing.
I heard the Lord say: ‘Oh my child, you are so welcome to come into my love and my life to receive your refreshing. Do not sit on the side-lines, waiting for my living waters to overwhelm you – but come in, step forward, step in and see how refreshing my living waters truly are.
For those who are paddling ankle deep: come deeper; for those who are standing knee-deep or waist deep: come in further; for those who are swimming on the surface: come deeper. I love you my child and long to refresh and bring increased life to you. Take a step, agree to come in and come deeper. I will meet you there.’
Ezekiel 47:3-6Â
As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep. He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist. He measured off another thousand, but it was now a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in – a river that no-one could cross. He asked me Son of man do you see this?
