Desire – your Lion Bites word for today
1 Corinthians 12:31
Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I will show you the most excellent way.
It is time to shift your desire to another level. It is time to deliberately and boldly work up your eagerness for God. It is time to make a daily, hourly choice to eagerly desire the gifts of the Spirit in your life.
Watch and listen to yourself carefully today: Check how many times you think or say, ‘I really want to…’ or, ‘I’d really like…’ or, ‘Today I really must…’ or, ‘I need…’ or, ‘I’d love…’?
As you become more aware and conscious of all these needs, wants and desires, begin to work with the Holy Spirit to replace them – or supercede them – with an eager desire for the gifts He has given you. Step out of bed and say, ‘Right! Today I want to pursue you God and I eagerly, earnestly desire the gifts you have given me to become manifest in my life in greater measure!’
Every time you catch yourself saying, ‘I want’ or ‘I need’, add another request – ‘…but even more, I want to use the gifts you have given me, Holy Spirit’.
