Dwelling Place
John 14:2
In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you, for I go to prepare a place for you.
Come to the secret place where I long to dwell with you. Many have only understood that I have prepared a place for them in the heavens when they finally leave this earth, but I say to you that I have also prepared a place for you here and now and it is closer than you think.
Do you believe that I dwell within your heart? (Eph 3:17) That is where I have prepared a place for you, and I long to fill that place with my presence and dwell with you there. Let your heart be the secret place of my presence, where I come and meet with you. Clear out everything else and make room for us to be together. What you treasure will fill your heart (Matthew 6:21) – the place that I long to dwell in. So come to the secret place where no-one else and nothing else should occupy. Recognise my presence there and dwell there with me, even amidst the busyness of your day. Look to your heart and find me there.
Psalm 27:4-6 (NASB)
One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
