Fear not, for I am with you, says the Lord. I will never leave you and I will never, ever betray you. Let me be your rock and do not make men your cornerstone. Men and women will fail you, even those who you put hope and confidence in. But I, the Lord your God, am your sure foundation. So would you shift your feet onto me, where they have previously been placed on the shoulders of men?
Are there people, even people in places of leadership or authority in your life, who you need to release from being your place of hope? Is there offense that you have taken up that needs to be set down and is there forgiveness that you can show to those who have not measured up to expectation – expectation that was possibly wrongly allocated in the first place? Forgive them and know that in their stead you have someone who will never let you down and who is always consistent, true and who keeps His word. He is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.
Isaiah 28:16
So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: ‘See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.’
