The fear of man brings a snare, But he who trusts in the LORD will be exalted.
Proverbs 29:25 (NASB)
I have not called you to be conformers to this world but reformers of it. I have not called you to be politically correct, but I have called you to righteousness and love. I have called you to be the head and not the tail, to be above and not below. I have called you to be free!
Many of my children walk around like prisoners in chains because of the fear of man. But the chains are not so much around their wrists and ankles as they are over their mouths and hearts. Why do you fear man ‘whose breath is in his nostrils’ (Isaiah 2:22) when it is I who put it there? What can man do to you that I cannot overturn? Is anything too difficult for me?
So I say to you, trust in me and in my Word, for it is that trust that will break the chains of fear. How much do you trust me? You have declared and sung, ‘If God is for me who can be against me?’, but do you really believe it?
It was only when Peter took his eyes off me and looked at the waves and natural circumstances – and when he considered the ‘impossibility’ of what he was doing – that he began to sink. So I say to you, stop regarding man and look to and trust in Me -THEN impossibilities will be opportunities to you!
