Incline your ear to my whisper – your Lion Bites word for today

I hear the Lord ask, ‘If I came to you as a fire, I know that you would notice. If I came to you in a violent wind, I know that you would give me your attention. But if I came to you in a small whisper, would you incline your ear to hear what I have to say?’

You have been looking for the bang and the boom of the voice of the Lord in the midst of your storms and have felt disappointment when it seemed like He had not spoken or even noticed your cries. But the Lord is speaking, just not in the way that you anticipated. He is teaching you to incline your ear to the still, small whisper that so often goes unnoticed in your life.

He comes and He speaks with a whisper into your storm, and your storm listens. His whisper, although small, thunders through the atmosphere, moving everything in its path. His whisper is not lesser than His fire nor is it secondary to His wind.

And He says, ‘Do not miss what my whisper brings. Do not allow it to pass you by without laying hold of all that I am saying through it. But turn your head and incline your ear, listen to what I am saying, for I come and speak strategy, solution, breakthrough, healing, wholeness and energy as a whisper. As you listen and partner with what I say, a way is made for you to advance and occupy the position ahead of you.’

1 Kings 19:11-15
The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.” The Lord said to him, “Go back the way you came, and go to the Desert of Damascus. When you get there, anoint Hazael king over Aram.
