Joined with others

Perhaps you have tried your best to carve a future for yourself but have been left feeling somewhat unfulfilled and unsatisfied with the finished product. If that feels like your situation, God is asking you if you will you allow Him to place you on His ‘lathe’ – so that He can fashion, shape, carve and re-create a new and beautiful purpose for your life?  There is a design and purpose that was made just for you!

I see it as if God is about to apply a chisel to an already completed piece of wood. The wood has been carved into a leg for a table but without the other three legs it is just a beautifully crafted piece of woodwork – nice to look at but not of much use by itself.

Instead, the Lord wants to join you with people who complement you, to make a whole out of what you carry. There are others who need to be allowed into your life to enable you to complete your destiny.  Will you allow yourself to not only trust God but to trust others to complement and bring you into the fullness of what God has for you? Will you allow Him to chisel away the things that are not needed in this new season, so that you might be perfectly fitted together, into His people and His plans for you?

Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
