Night and Day (part 3)

Psalm 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.

Would you work to become more aware of the condition of your spirit? Still yourself and ask the Holy Spirit to show you what your spirit looks like. Ignore your body and how it looks for now, but look at your spirit, which, by the saving blood of Jesus has been made new , created in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:24).

What condition is your spirit in? Healthy? Or is it looking a bit thin and emaciated, in need of feeding and strengthening? Is it a bit flabby, requiring muscle-building and training? Do not feel condemned by what you see but instead rejoice and look forward to the ‘bootcamp’ process, and how much you are going to be grown in this.

1 Peter 3:4
Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

As you spiritually ‘work-out’ you will become more aware of your spirit praising, worshipping and enjoying God as you go about the day-to-day. Jesus is promising a new stamina and strength for your spirit – no more will it limp from Sunday to Sunday but instead a round-the-clock fire burning inside of you!

Ezekiel 35:25-27
I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

1 Corinthians 6:17
But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him
