Pursue with all your might  – your Lion Bites word for today

I saw a huge crowd filling all the roads and squares of a city, as if  waiting for a great event or race to begin. They were surging forwards, intent on reaching the same destination, the same goal. Their faces were joyful and happy. Nobody was stressed or anxious. They were all the Christian believers in the world, gathered in one place. All pursuing God, all eager to walk with Jesus.

And I heard the Spirit ask:
‘But who will run?
Who will go faster with me?
Who will step out to make a difference?’

One by one, some moved forwards, edging out of the crowd, their faces shining, determined to move faster, to give their all. And Jesus was walking among them, spurring them on.

He says to you, ‘Will you commit to go faster with me, to run and not walk, to stretch yourself spiritually, to stop counting the cost, to stop thinking of other things that really don’t matter, to leave behind things that will hold you back and make you hesitate…  to pursue me with all your heart, not just a part, to seize every moment for growth. And, if you do, I promise you that you will run and not be weary. You will see my face, you will understand my ways. I will show you how to do life well, how to prioritise, how to handle hurdles, mountains and the valleys that you will certainly have to cross. I am your goal and your guide.’

1 Corinthians 9:24
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Luke 17:32-33
Remember Lot’s wife. Whoever seeks to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
