Remember – your Lion Bite word for today

I reminded the Israelites to remember who I was for them, to corporately share the stories.  As well as keeping them aware of their dependence on me, it strengthened the ties that bound them together and reminded them that they were part of the whole, part of a bigger story.

In this time, when I am drawing you into a closer-knit sense of community, tell the stories of who I have been for you and remember my body.  As you remind each other of the God you serve, allow it to wash your minds with the powerful truth that there is no God like yours.

Remember who I am; remember to whom you belong.

Deuteronomy 6:12 (NIV) …then when you eat and are satisfied, be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

1 Chronicles 16:11-13 (NIV) Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.  Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles and the judgments he pronounced, you his servants, the descendants of Israel, his chosen ones, the children of Jacob.

Luke 22:19 (NIV) And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.

As you gather with other believers, tell the stories that illustrate an aspect of God’s character ~ stories of how God has provided for you in the last year or how he has strengthened you or given you direction.  Take communion with each other as you remember what Jesus did for you and declare there is no God like our God.
