Restoration after the storm

All around is destruction, everything is spread out to the right and to the left. The storm clouds are gathering yet again. And the people ask, ‘How much more can we take? Will there be another tornado?’ The feeling of dread is rising as the skies darken and the funnel forms and begins to expand. The winds increase and everyone scatters to hide from the storm, expecting the worst.

Then the winds die down. The light returns and everyone emerges to see if anything is left. To their delight and surprise, everything that was destroyed by the first tornado now stands miraculously restored: every house as if new… even the children’s’ toys stand in the yard, waiting for their return!

Surely I have promised restoration and restitution and my promises are ‘Yes’ and ‘Amen’.

Joel 2:25
I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten – the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm – my great army that I sent among you.
