Seek humility, find honour – your Lion Bites word for today

‘My child, I have given you great authority, as you have come under my Lordship and my authority’, says your Lord Jesus Christ.

But be sure that your walk today is fragranced with humility. Humble your heart and God will see that you are honoured.

Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honour. (Proverbs 18:12)

Do not get embroiled in the world’s games of petty ‘points-scoring’ and do not be too hasty to cry foul. The promise of Jesus Christ to His children today is that, if you walk humbly and righteously, He will bless your right hand to do the mighty works in His name that you so cry out for.

Examine your heart – who are you about to justify yourself to; whose errors were you due to expose? Instead, can you walk the path of humility? As you do, watch how the Lord honours you and glorifies Himself.

Luke 14:8-11
When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honour, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited. If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, “Give this person your seat.” Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place. But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, “Friend, move up to a better place.” Then you will be honoured in the presence of all the other guests. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

James 4:10
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up
