Seek Me first and I will protect you

I embrace you, my child, and wrap you in my love.

Just as a child watching a meal being prepared looks up to the pots and pans on the hot stove, you do not see the danger. A child does not see the danger of the hot food being prepared; he only sees the handle of the pots, and smells the aroma of the cooking food. As he reaches up to take hold of the handle, his father stops him before he is hurt and explains why it is not good to touch these things because of the dangers associated with them.

In the same way, I watch over you and love you and do not want you to get hurt. I love you, my child, and want you to understand that not all things are good for you. When you reach for and close your hand around things that are dangerous (such as what you desire in another person or a certain path which looks attractive to walk on) I will protect you… if you let each and every decision be taken through prayer then I will give guidance in all things – and keep you from danger. Seek me first.

Matthew 7:7-12
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
