The oil and comb of the Lord

The Lord showed me a vision of fragrant oil being poured onto locks of hair. The hair, which had become tangled – even knotted and matted in places, was being restored. Father God was gently combing and brushing the hair, and pouring His restorative, thick, sweet-smelling oil onto each strand. Each tooth of the comb was important, as it separated and straightened each individual strand of hair where it had become tangled. The process of combing and brushing the hair was firm, yet gentle, no more painful or unpleasant than when a mother or father might brush a daughter’s hair. Soon the hair was free from all tangles and knots and was longer, fuller and straighter than ever before. Each strand was thick, healthy and shining.

Father God is doing a work in your life that is similar to this picture. He is making the rough places smooth, He is healing wounds and is restoring the shine of righteousness and goodness. He is nourishing you to your very roots, He is removing every entanglement and is bringing a fullness to your spirit. As well as His oil, He uses His comb, the teeth of which are His church. Seek out those in the church who have been gifted by the Holy Spirit to minister to those places that have become tangled or matted. They will assist in this process of restoration.
When Jesus, your Saviour and your Healer, lovingly ‘combs your hair’ He will do it firmly but gently, without any trace of anger in His arm. You are deeply loved.

Song of Songs 4:1, 7-10 (NLT)
You are beautiful, my darling, beautiful beyond words. Your eyes are like doves behind your veil. Your hair falls in waves, like a flock of goats winding down the slopes of Gilead.
You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way. Come with me from Lebanon, my bride, come with me from Lebanon. Come down from Mount Amana, from the peaks of Senir and Hermon, where the lions have their dens and leopards live among the hills. You have captured my heart, my treasure, my bride. You hold it hostage with one glance of your eyes, with a single jewel of your necklace. Your love delights me, my treasure, my bride. Your love is better than wine, your perfume more fragrant than spices.
