The opportunity to ‘break camp’ – your Lion Bites word for today

Joshua 3:3-4
…and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God with the Levitical priests carrying it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it. However, there shall be between you and it a distance of about 2,000 cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you shall go, for you have not passed this way before.

‘I see your weariness’, says God, ‘and your inability of yourself to break out of the mundanity of everyday life. I hear the cries of your spirit for adventure in me, yet the flesh is weak and fear seeks to hold you back’. ‘But lift your eyes’, says the Lord, ‘and see what I am doing’.

‘I am getting ready to move, and you need to move with me. You have not been this way before. I want you to be aware of – and enjoy – the journey. Look around and see where I am taking you. You are about to see changes begin to take place in you and in your surrounding circumstances. It will begin as a trickle, and, as you follow me, will cascade throughout your entire life.

You now have the opportunity to ‘break camp’ and move from that place of settled comfort and stagnancy. If you will choose to listen to my Spirit and give heed to your spirit rather than your flesh, you will know the adventure and excitement that your spirit has craved and a momentum and acceleration such as which you have never seen before.
It’s time to move!
