I stood on the floor of a valley, as the cold of night met the dawn of a new day, and as the sun began to rise and force back the shadows of darkness. I watched as the valley came to life.
In the valley there stood a yellow rose. I looked and saw that, as the sun began to touch its closed petals, it began to stir and open to the tender touch of the solar rays. And as it slowly opened I saw small droplets of dew begin to form on the opening petals and slowly run down into the heart of this beautiful flower.
As I continued to watch, I saw these droplets – the water of life – begin to flow down the outside of the now fully-opened flower, run down the green stem and into the dry earth below where the water brought refreshing to the grass of the valley.
Beautiful one, you are that yellow rose! Your life has been touched by the love of the Son, and into you He has poured His refreshing – so that you will release it into a dry and thirsty world.
1 Peter 1:23-25
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.
