The trumpets have sounded!

There is a great noise of brass in Heaven this season, as bells are ringing and trumpets are sounding. Have you heard the trumpets’ call? It is sounding a call to the workers, the Lord’s servants; calling them to the fields.

The call is to leave what you are doing and run to the fields. Lay down your tools and join the throng who are running down the village streets and out into the fields. Come and see how golden the fields are, how rich the season’s harvest is. Feel how heavy-laden the stalks are – they’re bending under the weight of the ears of corn! Listen to the workers rejoice and sing as they leap around amongst the harvest.

So listen for the trumpet call and let it stir your spirit. It is time for the harvest, time to get into the fields. You are a worker, you have a part to play, a place in the fields. Whatever is preoccupying you elsewhere, it is time to throw it down and run into the harvest fields!
Come, let us rejoice and reap the harvest of the Lord.
