My dear child, will you allow me to place my hand under your chin and raise your head? My desire is to lift your head up, so that your gaze shifts to see the new things that I am bringing to your horizon. I can do this despite you, because I am the Lord, but it is better that you allow me, that you allow your head to be lifted and your eyes to be opened to the new and the more.
Look, look to the new. There is more for you: much, much more! I am not finished with you – no! – I have much more in store for you. New freedom, new joy, gifts, new ideas… much more! So allow me to place my hand under your chin and lift your head to where it needs to be, so that you might see all that I am bringing your way. I am you provider. I am your Good Father. Will you allow me?
Matthew 7:9-11 (NLT)
You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.
