Build up your faith

The stormy seas are rising all around and it seems as if the waves will only get higher. AND YET, says the Holy Spirit, ‘I will build you up so that you might rise like a tall lighthouse in the middle of the ocean. I will strengthen you so that you will withstand any wave or wind that comes and your light will never dim. You will be a beacon for me, standing even hundreds of metres above the stormy waters’.

God is looking for a people of faith to stand in these days. He is looking to those who would continually seek to strengthen themselves and have their faith built up; He seeks those who prize a strong faith above all else. The people of faith will stand against the stormy waves of intellectualism, secularism, false religion, the anti-Christ spirit and against the waves of fear, intimidation, doubt, cynicism, weakness, lack, poverty, sickness and the failing systems of man.

Our church gatherings and our fellowship with one another must be places where we strengthen each other’s faith and build each other up – just as the early apostles did: “…then Judas and Silas, both being prophets, spoke at length to the believers, encouraging and strengthening their faith.” (Acts 15:32).

What are you doing to build up your faith, to build that tall and strong lighthouse in the ocean? Are you doing anything that runs contrary to this – that is sapping your faith and strength? If so, take it to the Lord in haste, seek His counsel! And are you doing all that you can to build up and strengthen the faith of your fellow lighthouses? Let us rise up together in faith, in our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and of His eternal Kingdom!

1 Corinthians 14:26
What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.
