Look forward with renewed hope

1 Peter 1:24-25
For,”All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls off, but the word of the Lord endures forever.”
And this is the word which was preached to you.

As the year 2012 draws to a close, do not look back in disappointment, nor at what you perceived to be failings or inabilities on your own part to get out of the year all that you had hoped for. Neither heave a sigh of relief as the page turns into 2013. For the Lord says to us –

Have you not seen My hand in your life? Have you not perceived My voice to you this year? What is the word that I have spoken to you?

Know that I am faithful and that My word stands forever. What you perceive to be failings, regrets and inabilities do not stack up against the security and certainty of My word. Though you may fail, I remain faithful. Though you regret, I have forgiven. Though you may say, “I can’t” or, “I couldn’t”, I add to you My ability and power.

So look forward into 2013 – not with a, “here we go again” – but renewed hope and with the certainty and unshakable-ness of My word. If you will stand on My word and rely on My leading this new year, you will not fail and you will know a fulfillment greater than you have ever known. My word stands forever.

Isaiah 55:11
So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.
