Purity of thought

Your mind is a fertile place. A place where the thoughts that come and go can easily take up residence, sometimes without you even noticing. Here negative thoughts can grow into bad attitudes, producing bitterness and unforgiveness, if undetected.

I created you to be filled. I made you to be a vessel that is fill-able. Your natural tendency is to fill yourself up with something because I made you that way. Your mind is an entry point to that fillable space. What I’m asking of you now is to become vigilant in guarding your mind. Be picky about what you dwell on, allowing in only the good.

I am calling you into a place of purity of thought, so that the foundations in you that I want to build on will stay sound. This will be a challenge as it requires you to make decisive choices on what you allow yourself to think about. This effects all areas of your life. If you’re in any doubt, pass your thoughts through this reliable filter:

Philippians 4:8
Whatever is good, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, think about such things. If anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things.
