Psalm 47:1
O clap your hands, all you people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
There is a shout within you. Can you feel it? Have you felt the expansion of your spiritual lungs? God has been placing a shout within His people over the last season, He has been pouring in the breath you need to release this shout. Keep taking it in, keep breathing deeply from God.
For some, it will simply be a loud shout of joy and praise to the King; others will have a war-cry brewing within; others have been impregnated with a breakthrough cry, a cry that rends the heavens and brings new freedom from captivity. Yet these cries are like new wine; they will surprise you in their intensity and power. Your body, being used to the shouts and cries of the ‘old wine’, may not feel ready – ask the Lord to prepare your body and your spirit for the ‘new wine’ shout that is coming.
Sometimes you will find yourself releasing this shout or cry out-loud. Other times, you will feel it resonate and reverberate within your spirit, even if all that comes out is a whisper of wisdom or a right word in the right place, at the right time. Even still, however and how often it comes out, be ready, be bold, be prepared. This is a season of wonderful victory, even in the midst of apparent darkness.
Joshua 6:1-2,16,20-21
Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in. Then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men… The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the city!… When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. They devoted the city to the Lord and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.
