The washing tide

There is a swell, a tide, a flood so strong that it sweeps in over the land from the sea. It cleanses every crevice, washes clean, reaches dry corners long untouched. It is the clean, clear washing of the Spirit and the Word of God. Waves of it pour over and through the lives of those who trust, those who long for purity.

Don’t run from it, don’t flee. It may look like a threatening tsunami but it heals rather than harms.

Allow it to wash you clean. It is salt water that may sting the cuts and grazes that you have acquired but it leads to wholeness and healing, wellness and cleansing. It is refreshing like a deep sea wave and God’s power is in it. His power washes tenderly, leaves the beach of your life clean. His word touches deep, His spirit probes your innermost thoughts.

Rest as He washes you clean. Do not resist Him. He is safe though a lion. He is tender though a king. And He will present you spotless.

Ephesians 5:25b-27 
[Christ] gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault.

Ezekiel 43:2b 
The sound of his coming was like the roar of rushing waters, and the whole landscape shone with his glory.
