Listen to the Holy Spirit as He asks, ‘Are you too busy? Are you are so overwhelmed with appointments, dates, meetings and ‘to-dos’ that you have forgotten that I am here, waiting to be with you?’
I saw Jesus roll out two year-long calendars, representing your calendar and His calendar. He compares them. In His calendar, He has blocked out sections such as, ‘Intimate time‘ and ‘Divine Appointment‘. What do you have in your corresponding calendar?
Much of what you have in your diary may not be bad but are your priorities right? Are you making space for the significant appointments that He is ordaining for you, or are you ‘up to your eyes’ with insignificant projects? The Lord would like you to see and work to His calendar and to see His will for your time. He desires that you would live in his timing, with His kairos* timing overlaid on your calendar. This is key in living a life that is not overwhelmed or that contanstly feels stressfully busy.
And the Holy Spirit says to you, ‘I want to be able to spend every minute of every day with you. Listen to me and I will teach you how to craft your diary around my purpose and to match your calendar to mine.’
Luke 10:38-42
Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
* kairos: “the appointed time in the purpose of God”
